A little common sense
I’m proud…proud as an employee can be, that my principal just started his own professional blog. He’s had one for school purposes for a couple of months now…but now he has his own professional blog as well. Sentiments on Common Sense joins the blogging community.
Andy starts this blog as he heads out of Shanghai bound for the States to recruit teacher over the coming weeks. In his first post he talks about the name of his blog and also 5 questions he plans to ask every new hire.
In closing I would like to share some great questions that my fellow blogger David Warlick shared in a past post titled “How to Hire Tech Savvy Teachers”. David shared these 5 questions that seem to work well for me on the job fair circuit.
David wrote on November 26, 2006:
- Tell me how you think the future you are preparing children for will be different.
- What is your favorite gadget and why?
- How often do others come to you for guidance in using technology?
- Describe the last new technology that you used and how you used it — and how you learned it.
- Describe
the last thing you learned related to your work, that you didn’t learn
in a classroom or from a book, and describe how you learned it.
Five great questions. Head on over to sentiments on common sense and leave a comment. What question would you add to the list.
Andy…welcome to the Edublogosphere!
